F1 in Singapore postponed – Due to heavy rain, the start of the Formula One race in Singapore has been postponed. The motorsport global organization Fia first said on Sunday that the entire starting procedure had to be postponed without providing any additional information. The race would begin at 9:05 p.m. local time, according to the organizers (3:05 p.m. CEST).
Heavy rain began at 8p.m (local time) in the Asian city-state, a little more than an hour before the Grand Prix was set to begin; lightning was also spotted later. The supporters swiftly dispersed from the stands in search of safety. The water was unable to drain and first sat on the railway while it continued to rain fiercely. After an hour of rain, marshals sought to remove water accumulations off the course with brooms.
